Setting Up CRA Direct Deposit
So your refund lands in your account instead of arriving as a cheque in the post — usually a week or two sooner.
Never send banking details by email or through a web form. Not to us, not to anyone. There is no form on this page for exactly that reason — the two safe routes are below.
Best: set it up yourself
You don’t need us for this at all, and it’s the most secure option because your banking details never leave your own hands. It takes about two minutes.
-
Sign in to CRA My Account
Or use your bank’s sign-in partner option if you don’t have a CRA user ID.
-
Find “Direct deposit”
It’s under your profile or account settings, depending on the current layout.
-
Enter your transit, institution, and account numbers
All three appear along the bottom of a cheque, and in the “direct deposit info” section of most banking apps.
Most Canadian banks can also set this up from inside your online banking, under a heading like “CRA direct deposit” — no CRA sign-in needed.
Or have us do it
If you’d rather we handled it, call Mona and give the details over the phone. She can set it up while you’re on the line, provided your CRA authorization is already in place.
Watch for scams. M Setia Accounting Inc. will never email or text you asking for banking details, CRA sign-in credentials, or a payment by e-transfer. Neither will the CRA. If a message claiming to be from either of us asks for any of that, don’t reply — call 604-625-6260 and check.
